I live only for my heritage. Though my family has been unkind to us, my sisters and I have stuck through it; we have our freedom now. And he will keep it secured. He knows more than any man I have met; of magic and it's power, and of weaknesses of man. Noone will falter my trust in him.

Alecto watched the taller girl walk past her, rolling her eyes and holding back a scoff. it was one day- one day to try and be decent towards another human being who wasn’t a boy and wasn’t her brother. She could do it. She could. She’d promised herself that morning. “I’m always punctual,” Alecto explained smoothly, turning on her heel and catching up to Bellatrix in five quick steps.

She looked up at her, holding her head high, watching Bellatrix speak, “Now where is it you want to go when we get into town?” She let a smile stretch over her wide lips and let out a breath of a laugh, very soft and ladylike indeed, “Anywhere and everywhere, love,” she was being nice, and overtly so. That didn’t matter. She needed one sort of ally to last her the last several months of Hogwarts.

The only one she had was her brother— and Alecto was sure that as soon as he fond out a certain someone deflowered his precious sister, both she and Evan were as good as dead, slaughtered, blood used to paint the walls of his dormitory.

“We’re of age, darling,” she smirked and winked, easily walking past Bellatrix. Perhaps it was that Alecto felt that she fit in a little better than the taller girl, at least in the normalcy of being a teenager and all of that. She rebelled against the ways of her mother, doing the opposite of what she wanted, and for a good reason— what sort of mother would do the things she did to the Carrow twins to their own child?

Her hatred was justified— but even so, she held on to her deeply rooted ideals— the one that bonded her and many other Slytherins together. Blood purity. That’s what it was about. The survival of the magical gene.

“There’s the Hog’s Head,” grimy, she thought, but it wasn’t as if the Three Broomsticks would serve them any firewhiskey— not to students of Hogwarts. Precisely why Alecto was dressed very unlike a student, wearing one of her best outfits— bought in Paris, of course. “A little cafe here and there.”

Bellatrix’s lips curved up into a smirk as the girl pranced to her side with her heels clicking all the way. Something had changed in the girls demeanor in that split second, something much more defiant and luxuriously branded in coy Slytherin attitude causing her to sway less modestly and raise her head to where her chin became jewelry to her neck in show. Impeccably smooth, just as any noble should carry herself.

“I’m always punctual.” As Bellatrix was sure. The girl reeked of the same perfectionist ideals that she’d recently found herself slipping into, but most deeply embedded into her youngest sister, Narcissa. She wondered just what made Alecto break the rules then. Perhaps it was her twin, though she had heard deadly details of the Carrow family from her mother, that was certainly something to the equation.

By and by, it did not really matter. The laugh she’d given solidified a day’s worth of social equivalency, not quite trust but minute respect.

She returned the gesture with her own laugh, one from the back of her throat where it was easy to control its duration. Of course nothing had been planned beyond drinking, nothing to familiar between the two. All going to classic nobility structure.

Managing to hold her composure as Alecto took the lead, her mind stuck between laughing at the girl’s confidence and sneering at the switch in power, she followed only a stride behind her until room allowed for them to walk beside one another. “There’s the Hog’s Head.” Now that really was laughable, but that was not why Alecto had paused, she was certain. Even the Carrows must have realized how demeaning it was to be found in such a downtrodden place. “A little cafe here and there.”

More on track, but not what Bellatrix had been aiming for. “I was hoping for something a bit darker. I’m afraid to find it though, we must travel farther than Hogsmeade.”, she didn’t turn to look at the other, not asking for confirmation, but making a simple demand. If she was going to do this, then why not go all the way with it.

“I’ve got this one to keep me company in hell.”

Honestly you all deserve something better than a returning message, especially on a holiday. I hope everyone has been doing well. I’ve been off sick, mostly, and working through exams over the exasperatingly long time I’ve been off, but I’m here to stay, thankfully.

If anyone would care to give me a run down on what happened while I was gone, it’d be very much appreciated, though if no one feels up for it I am working my way through everything.

I’d also like to apologize for my absence. I’ll make sure to keep up to date from now on. Even if I do become ill again, I’ll use my extra time to read up and respond. I really do feel horrible for leaving you all in such a manor for such a long period of time. I will not let it happen again.

Also, happy Valentines Day everyone. I hope you guys have gotten tons of gifts and had a wonderful day.
